Nanyuki Municipality
- Nanyuki is a vibrant town located in central Kenya, straddling the equator and sitting at the base of Mount Kenya, Africas second-highest peak. Established as a British settlement in the early 20th century, Nanyuki has since grown into a bustling urban center known for its diverse population, scenic landscapes, and unique equatorial climate. The town attracts tourists with its proximity to natural wonders such as Mount Kenya National Park, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, and the Ewaso Ngiro River, where visitors can enjoy game drives, hiking, and wildlife conservation experiences.
- Nanyuki is also a hub of economic activity, with a mix of agriculture, tourism, and commercial trade driving its growth. It serves as a gateway to northern Kenya, providing essential services and supplies to travelers and neighboring counties. The towns strategic location has drawn both local and international investment, evident in its well-developed infrastructure, including luxury hotels, modern restaurants, and bustling markets. The British Army Training Unit in Kenya (BATUK) also has a base here, bringing additional economic and cultural influence to the area. Nanyukis mix of local heritage, scenic beauty, and modern amenities make it one of Kenyas most distinctive towns.

Population
According to the 2009 KNBS Housing and Population Census, the total population for the county stood at 399,227 people of which 198,625 were males and 200,602 were females. In 2021, it is expected to rise to 577,791 +.
Physiographic and Natural Conditions
According to the ADP 2019 2020, the altitude of Laikipia County varies between 1,500m above sea level at Ewaso Nyiro basin in the North to a maximum of 2, 611m above se level around Marmanet forest.
